Tell us all about the proposal!

“We were fishing at sunset, it was a perfectly still night. Josh tied up a ‘proposal rig’ and while I was distracted, he dropped the line in the water. I quite literally reeled in my proposal, and when I realised, josh was down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was truly magical.”

How did you know you had met ‘The One’?

“We make each other laugh; even on the darkest of days... we have an attraction like no other. And while we’ve been together for 5 years, our love still feels like it’s new. We couldn’t imagine life without one another.”

What was the inspiration behind your wedding?

“ We like elegant; and every part of our wedding was elegant. It was perfect and exactly what we wanted.”

Why did you choose this venue as your wedding venue?

“I love the gardens; and the waterfall behind where we had our ceremony was simply stunning.”

What are your favourite memories from the day?

“ Seeing my husbands face as I walked down the aisle. Making jokes the whole way through our photo tour. It made the day so fun, and it was so characteristic of our relationship.“

Why did you choose Bali as the location for your destination wedding?

“ We’ve undergone 2 years of treatment for infertility, and we just wanted to do something for us. Something that was special; something that was unique, fun and just what we wanted. So we eloped in Bali! It was everything we wanted, and more.”

Where did you splurge and where did you save?

“We splurged on the photography and upgraded our photo package. The photos are memories at the end of the day. We saved on all the little things...”

What were the favourite details that you chose for your day?

“ The classic white roses... and the fact my daughter walked me down the aisle, and stood by my side for the ceremony. Her smile was absolutely infectious, and I loved that she played such a big part in our special day.”

How did you find the perfect dress?

“I went shopping in Adelaide with a few of my friends and family. The perfect dress was actually the first one I tried on. How lucky for me! ”

What were the most memorable moments for you?

“Josh’s smile when he saw his 2 girls walking down the aisle. I will never forget that moment. Pure happiness, and the beginning of the rest of our lives.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?

“We definitely splurged on the Photographer/Videographer & the DJ. Those two were the most important for us and they both did amazing. We saved on the decorations for the wedding. Bali and The Royal Pita Maha is so beautiful within it self that a lot for decor was not needed.”

Do you have any messages for the team at Botanica?

“Our special day was so perfect. We can’t thank Botanica Weddings and Trasti enough. Trasti was very professional and switched on. She was excellent with communication, and went above and beyond to ensure our big day was simply magical. We are so, so appreciative for her hard work.”

“Make your day about you... the rest will sort itself out in the end.”
