A Bali Love Story: Lauren and Greg

Lauren and Greg first locked eyes while on holiday with their friends in Bali in 2010. It was love at first sight and they have been inseparable ever since. Lauren and Greg’s passion for travelling meant the decision to have destination wedding in Bali was a no brainer. They wanted to get married in a place that was special for both of them, so a Bali wedding it was! They also knew their family and friends would love it too. The moment Lauren and Greg saw The Royal Pita Maha they knew it was the one. Located in the cultural heart of Bali and built by the Royal family of Ubud, it is a cultural masterpiece. The Royal Pita Maha provides a visual feast of intricately carved stone walls, luxuriant gardens, natural spring fed pools and spectacular architecture.

The wedding guests traveled from Australia and Scotland arriving 5 days before the wedding, allowing everyone to enjoy a little bit of Bali. Some guests went straight to Ubud and others stayed in Seminyak to enjoy the nightlife and array of restaurants and cafes. Ku De Ta and Motel Mexicola were a highlight for the group, enjoying dinner and drinks before the big wedding day.

Lauren’s vision for her wedding dress was ‘vintage romance’, she wanted something that was a little different but also comfortable and was immediately drawn to the lace detail of her dress. The bridesmaids wore light pink.

The reception kicked off with a traditional Balinese Legong Dance. Guests then enjoyed an Indonesian Buffet dinner and a beautiful white chocolate mudcake with buttercream icing.

Lauren’s wedding day highlights included getting ready with her bridesmaids (while sipping champagne of course!), being walked down the aisle by her uncle who traveled all the way from Scotland and of course, “holding hands and saying our vows”.

“The whole experience was stress free because Botanica Weddings took care of absolutely everything, and thank you to my lovely wedding planner Kathryn who was amazing!” - Lauren

Congratulations Lauren & Greg!

Traditions:

Lauren wore a Pandora bangle with a "G" for Greg charm. She also wore her Grandmothers wedding ring and had photos displayed throughout the ceremony and reception of Greg’s Mum Rosalie and Lauren’s Dad William, who are not with us anymore.
